Privacy Policy

Account information. Your email address, username, display name, and — if you sign in with Google — your Google account email. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never visible to us.

Study activity. Your answers, match results, ratings, review queue, practice history, study plans, and progress statistics. This is the core of the product — it's how Laddr knows what to resurface and how your ladder position moves.

Content you upload. Notes, pasted text, and files you turn into study sets, and — if you connect them — assignment deadlines from a Canvas calendar feed or free/busy times from Google Calendar. Calendar connections are optional and can be disconnected in the app, which removes the imported data.

AI conversations. Messages you send to the AI tutor and copilot, which may be stored alongside notes the AI keeps about how you learn (for example, a misconception it noticed) so later explanations fit you better.

Payment status. If you subscribe, payments are processed by Stripe. Laddr never sees or stores your card number — we store only your subscription status and Stripe customer reference.

To run the product: matching you into battles, scheduling your review, generating questions from your notes, grading answers, predicting your score range, and showing leaderboards. We also read aggregate usage to fix bugs and decide what to build. We do not sell your information, and there is no third-party advertising in Laddr.

Laddr runs on a small set of service providers, each used for one job:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
• OpenAI — powers question generation, grading, and the AI tutor. The notes and messages involved are sent to OpenAI's API to produce the response. Under OpenAI's API terms, this data is not used to train their models.
• Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions.
• Google — optional sign-in, and optional calendar free/busy access if you connect it.

Your username, avatar, rank, rating, and win record appear on leaderboards and public player profiles. You can hide yourself from public leaderboards in Profile settings. Your study content, AI conversations, and email are never visible to other users. If you join a class or community, its teacher or owner can see your activity within that group — that's the point of a class.

Laddr is built for students preparing for exams and is intended for users 13 and older. If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian to read this policy with you. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13; if you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Your data is kept while your account exists. Deleting your account (Profile → Delete account) permanently removes your account and the data attached to it — profile, match history, study sets, review queue, and AI conversations. Payment records held by Stripe are retained as required for financial record-keeping.
